Translated with the author’s sanction and additions by William P Dickson. Bright marbled end papers with the same marbling effect to all the page edges. Some splitting to the end papers. Foxing to the front and rear prelims with light scattered foxing throughout. Includes a fold out military map of Italy which is foxed. The boards have a marbled effect with a gilt pattern around the edges. Spines are beautifully decorated in gilt. There is a 7cm split at the hinge of the front board. Cloth repairs to the inside gutter of the second volume and neatly finished off on the front. Contents still tightly bound. The Popular Edition. Condition: Very good. Hardcover.
