Original hand-coloured aquatint from Daniell’s important folio “African Scenery and Animals at the Cape of Good Hope.” Published in 1804. Daniell arrived in South Africa in 1799 and was appointed secretary and artist for the expedition of 1801–2 from the Cape of Good Hope to Bechuanaland led by P.J. Truter and William Somerville. His sketches on the expedition formed the basis for the above mentioned publication. Condition: Very good. With some light creases.
