Marbled endpapers with a bookplate with gilt lettering “presented to the Venerable Archdeacon Diggle by the parishioners and friends on his resignation of the Vicarage of Mossley Hill, March 1897 in all the volumes.” Marbling to all edges. Some foxing to the front and rear prelims of each volume with a light foxing on the fore-edge of Vol 1. Creasing to lower RH corner of front endpaper in Vol 1. Contents clean and tightly bound. Beautifully decorated gilt spine and lettering with a gilt patterned border on the boards. All volumes have some rubbing and marks mainly on the rear boards with a stain mark on the front boards of Vol 1 and a light abrasion mark on Vol 3.
