16 illustrations. Lionel Phillips was one of the original six founders of ‘The Corner House’ – the financial and mining oracle of Johannesburg at the time – the firm of H Eckstein. He wrote ‘Some Reminiscences’ in London in 1924 during his last few months as chairman of The Central Mining & Investment Corporation, Limited at the age of 70. He died at his farm, Vergelegen, Somerset West in 1936. Toning to front and rear prelims with some discolouration to the lower edges. No dust jacket. 292 Pages. Contents clean and firmly bound. Condition: Good. Binding: Hardcover. Blue cloth boards with edge-wear and light fraying to extremities. Some splitting and rubbing to spine edges.
