Blue marbled eps, previous owner’s stamp to the fep of each volume. Signature and small faded library stamp to the title page of each volume. This is the first edition, in German of this important work. Vol.1, 5 plates and engraved title page but lacking folding map. Volume 2, 4 plates as called for. The map called for in volume 2 was never issued. The map missing in volume 1 is included in facsimile. Edge wear to the boards and fingering to the pages. A collectable set of first editions, though lacking the map. 1st Edition. Condition: Very good. Binding: Hardcover. Decorated leather spines over marbled boards.
