A portrait photograph of the author and philosopher G.K. Chesterton by the well known West End society photographer Richard Neville Speaight (1875-1938). Signed in pencil by Speaight to the inner mount and signed in ink by Chesterton to the outer mount. Photographer’s blind stamp to the outer mount. Together with a hand written letter of recommendation for the son of a friend of Chesterton. This on his Overroads stationary. Photograph size: 20 x 26cm. Note: 11.3 x 17.5cm. Both items framed. Condition is very good with one small patch of oxidation to the photograph.
