Engraved perspective view (vue d’optique or Guckkastenbild)of Table Bay, Cape of Good Hope. This view is in reverse. Being a later edition of the first printing made in 1754. Hand colouring. Plate mark 41,5 x 26cm. Condition is very good. Some light creasing to the paper. Wide margins. Sheet size approx 33 x 51cm. The Dutch artist Jan van Ryne (ca. 1712-1760), he was believed to have worked in London about 1752-54, when he made this engraving of Table Mountain and Bay, first published by Robert Sayer of Fleet St., London, in 1754.
