Annals of the South African Museum. Vol. 78. August 1979. Part 10
The Holocene deposits at Die Kelders Cave 1 (also known as Klipgat Cave) contain a rich Later Stone Age (LSA) sequence dated to between approximately 2,000 and 1,500 years ago. First excavated by Franz Schweitzer from 1969 to 1973, these deposits are famous for providing early evidence of a hunter-gatherer-herder economy and the introduction of pottery and domestic livestock to southern Africa. 233 Pages.
