The fine designs for Brune’s emblems are by Adrian van de Venne and were engraved by the top talent of the day. Gelle, vand de Passe, Le Blon, Poet and Swelinck. Each emblem is captioned and, followed by and epigram and then explanatory prose in Dutch of up to 12 pages. Repairs to a few pages and some minor tide marks. first edition very good hardcover
