Illustrated with 32 photogravures of this architects work. Loos was a forerunner of the Modernist movement. Through his writings and his groundbreaking projects in Vienna, Loos was able to influence other architects and designers, and the early development of Modernism. His careful selection of materials, passion for craftsmanship and use of ‘Raumplan’—the considered ordering and size of interior spaces based on function—are still admired, however his personal life was troubled and he died in disgrace at the age of 62. 13 pages of text in French followed by the plates. This booklet with card wraps is part of the “Les Artistes Nouveaux” series. Some light wear to the spine and insect damage to the wraps. 1st Edition. Condition: Good. Binding: Card-wraps. Some edge-wear mainly to spine. Some abrasions and age-toning to wraps with insect damage and 1cm perforation on rear wrap. Age-toning to spine. 3cm closed tear to lower end of spine.
