A tribute to Esmerelda, a pretty grey donkey who set out on a five-day walk (with her owner and a number of walkers) over the Swartberg Pass from Prince Albert to Oudtshoorn to launch an education campaign known as The Esmerelda Fund, aimed at donkey owners throughout the Karoo. She successfully completed her marathon walk but sadly died a few days later in Prince Albert after eating a plastic bag.
