Edited compilation of Leipoldt’s three cook books. Leipoldt was much more than a food writer. He published many works, mostly in Afrikaans, both poetry and prose. A medical doctor, during World War 1 he was appointed medical officer to General Louis Botha and accompanied him during the South West African Campaign. He stood as a candidate for Smuts’ South African Party in the 1924 general election and was editor of a number of prestigious South African journals.
