Daniel J Cloete (1800-1879) was probably the first to use it. Browning, toning, scattered foxing throughout. Missing tail-band. The author (1726-1806) was a Scottish horticulturist. He found employment in the Kew Royal Gardens and later set up as a market gardener at Hackney. He was asked by Lochyer Davis, a publisher, to write a work on practical gardening.
